ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) to grant four months duration for the preparations of local bodies elections in the country on Monday, Geo News reported.
According to the petition, the ECP has sought an extension of four months from the apex court to arrange local bodies polls in the country.
It was requested in the petition to give time till March 2014 for the requisite arrangements for the upcoming local bodies elections in the country.
The Supreme Court also approved a petition filed by the Sindh government in the Karachi registry of holding the local bodies elections in the province on December 7.
