KARACHIKARACHI: Eighth Muharram-ul-Haram is dedicated to Alamdar-e-Karbala Hazrat Abbas (R.A). In this regard, majalis and mourning processions are being held all across the country under strict security measures, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

The name Qamar-e-Bani Hashim (moon of the Bani Hashim) is dedicated to Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib (R.A)’s son Hazrat Abbas (R.A). Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) made Hazrat Abbas (R.A) the commander in chief of his Lashkar in Karbala. Hazrat Abbas (R.A) is being remembered today for his bravery and marshalship in the battle of Karbala.

Stories of Hazrat Abbas Alamdar (R.A) bravery will be highlighted today in the majalis. Mourning processions will be carried out in this regard. Mourners will pay respect to the martyrs of Karbala by reciting nohas and participating in mourning processions .

In Hyderabad stringent security measures have been taken for the safety of the Muharram processions.

In Peshawar, the central procession will be taken out at 3 pm today. Majalis will be held across the city after processions.
