KARACHI: Seventeen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Wednesday, increasing the patients toll to 3834 in 2013, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

He said that a total of 4411 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 3834 were detected in Karachi and 577 in rest of Sindh province.
He informed that 24 dengue fever patients died in Karachi, while two expired in Hyderabad this year so far.
Dr Shakeel said 19 new cases were reported across the province in 24 hours (six Inpatient and 13 OPD cases) - 17 in Karachi and two in Hyderabad. He informed that 31 dengue cases were reported late from hospitals.
He further informed that 539 cases were detected in Hyderabad, nine in Jamshoro, six in Thatta, four in Sukkur, three Shikarpur; two each in Kambar, Sanghar; Dadu, Larkana and Kashmore and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar and Umerkot since January 2013. (PPI)
