ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should have taken a firm stand against missile strikes.

Speaking on the floor of National Assembly, Khan said that it was unfortunate that instead of showing unity against the strikes, nation appears to be divided on the key issue.

“My party was against military operation from day one. Military operation is no solution to any problem,” he said.

He argued that Mullah Omar had killed many American troops then why US President Barack Obama opened a Taliban office in Doha.

“We should have staged a massive show of protest against the drone strike, which scuttled peace process in Pakistan,” he added.

He said that those who were supporting peace were being labeled as sympathizers of Taliban. He lashed out at media and politicians for confusing people.
