Karachi: Crushing season of sugarcane in Sindh to start on 20h November, whereas, in Punjab it will start on 25th November Sugar mill owners announced.

This decision was taken so that soon after the crushing of sugarcane, cultivation of wheat could be made possible. According to the spokesperson of Kissan Board Pakistan, the crushing of sugarcane could not have been started so far whereas; the crops of sugarcane are ready for ripping on hundreds of thousands of acres area. Due to this, the cultivation of wheat is expected to be affected badly. If the crushing will not be started on time then the cultivation of wheat would be difficult for farmers and expensive too, as farmers would need excessive seeds for cultivation.

The delay can also effect the expected production of wheat as well. Farmers have demanded from the government to start the crushing of sugarcane as soon as possible.
